Kanchenjunga is third highest mountain in the world and lends it's name to the far north eastern region of Nepal. Kanchenjunga's three peaks form the border with India and tibet is only a handful of miles to the north.
whilst the trek to kanchenjunga's north and south base camps is now well established, it remains one of the quietest and remotest trekking routes in Nepal, very lightly populated with small farming villages, rugged terrain and very few facilities for the traveller.
as we passed through villages and farms we still experienced a level of novelty that I fear will disappear as more people look to explore new, unspoiled areas of the world.
